With the growing prevalence of TDMA based radio systems ( P25 PH2, DMR , MotoTRBO, TETRA etc) The XPAI device complete isolation between the XLR gateway and the connected host mobile to prevent errant TDMA ground noise from the the host radio device being induced into the XLR gateway circuitry.
Specifically, the XPAI provides comprehensive DC to DC power isolation, audio transformer coupling for audio circuits and the use of optocouplers for all switching functionality such as PTT, COR, Emergency etc,
Use of the simpler design XDCI DC-DC power isolation module provides sufficient TDMA ground noise protection in many cases. We recommend the XPAI as it completely isolates the gateway's audio, control Ines and 12V vehicle DC power input from the host mobile radio.
